Default Re: Pilot lands on golf course to get son to lesson

Every summer I fly to Dacy [0C0] NW of ORD which has 3 turf runways and one of em is really short 2577ft- it is a GREAT strip to work on your soft field landings and simulated engine outs/turnbacks. Also Lowell [C97] just S of GYY and Hinckley [0C2] just W of ARR. You just have to be more careful in a low-wing ArcherIII as to not clip any of the "vegetation" on the left/right sides of the rwy during landing. If anyone in the PWK area hasn't been to any of these cool strips- I HIGHLY suggest that you go there this coming spring/summer[take a CFI along if you are new to grass or need to get more practice] and get to work!! Afterwards, most of your landings on asphalt/concrete will benefit from this!
