Any ski rental shop will demo skis. Demo is a glorified word for rent but it means they are well tuned and this year's skis too. Essentially, if you do the math it takes a long time of Demoing to pay for the cost of new skis and bindings. When you demo you will get the tuning, the latest and greatest, the right ski for the day (powder, carving, mid-fat, etc.) and you don't have to carry them across the country.
