I did the extended campus route, which are located on a lot of military bases around the country, and it was even cheaper and faster than online. You can also combine online with the extended campus. I got 36 hours for Private - Comm. Multi. I didn't get awarded the full amount until I got the commercial multi.
Take as many CLEP and DSST tests you can. They are ridiculously easy. I used the study guides from
www.instantcertonline.com, which cost $20/month, exclusively and passed all of my tests with flying colors.
