Default Re: Trans States Interview

I just interviewed at TSA in early Feb.

50 Question test

Pretty basic stuff. Some WX, read a metar, very little 121 stuff, swept back wing pros and cons, Vortex generator functions, Parisite vs. Induced drag, Airspace, When is an alternate required, Airport markings, It really wasn't to difficult. Study some of your atp written and your instrument written stuff and you will be just fine. You have to score above a 70 to continue to the technical interview. There was one person there who didn't pass it out of 4.

Techical

Showed me an approach plate: What are the mins to shoot this apporach? If RVR is this can you shoot it. What if it falls below after the FAF. Breif the approach.

If your going 420 knots how many miles per min are you going? If I want to decend at 2000fpm from 20,000 feet to 10,000 feet at 360 knots how long would it take?

Memory Items. I got asked a ton! know them like the back of your hand. Memorize the two sheets they sent. Know how the heat works and whats electrical and whats bleed air.

HR

Why Trans states?
Where would you like to be based?
Are you ready to fly a jet?
Have you ever busted a check ride.--Got a good laugh with the chief pilot with that one...He busted his private because he couldn't find a quary, I did because I couldn't find a cemetary haha.
What do you know about TSA?

That was pretty much it. It wasn't really difficult. I was done in a couple hours and on my flight home. Starting march 3rd so if you have any other questions feel free to ask just PM me. 520 TT and 130 Multi were my times.
