I was in Dubai back in '99-'02, and I do remember a few large buildings but not as much as there is now. One of the other ways they make money is when aircraft carriers pull into port there. Each sailor is going to spend at least $400 while they are there for three or four days. Now there are around 5000 sailors on an carrier. $400 x 5000 people= $2,000,000 dollars into the economy just in one visit by one carrier. Let's not even go into how many carriers are in the Navy fleet.
