Re: Delta delays Comair sale until??? Delta is indeed delaying the sale of Comair because they can't find a suitable offer. It's no secret they overpaid for Comair originally (ref: Comair threatening to buy Spirit and raiding the CVG cashcow) and as Doug alluded to, 50-seat RJs aren't worth much more than a resting place in the desert.
Comair is making money and from a flight operations standpoint, they are doing Delta's dirty work (northeast flying (JFK)) at a much lower cost than any other DCI carrier would be able to offer--even if there are an overabundance of 25 year captains on the property.
I personally wouldn't mind flying for either NWA or UA, but the reality of the situation is, if Delta merges with either, CVG is a goner and Comair will must likely be spun off, so why am I wasting my time??? Should be an interesting next two months!
BTW, thanks to the two "Southern Jets" crews who went out of their way to get me on their jumpseat this past week while commuting home.... |
