My cell accidentally went off in the sim once, and my instructor gave me this anecdote in response:
There was a captain at our airline who was getting a line-check with an FAA ride-along. Not only did his cellphone went off after they'd already pushed and were going, he also answered the call. Needless to say, he's now warming the right seat for quite a while. I was told that if it was me, as the FO that had that happen, I'd probably be looking for new employment.
