Reporting Posts Ok folks, I've been out of town with limited internet access so that's enabled me to look at the forum in a 'macro' view rather than a hour-by-hour perspective.
We've had a rash of 'reported posts'.
Some, quite disturbingly, from people that found themselves involved in a pissing match with another user, took a final stab and then quickly clicked the 'report post to moderator'.
That's not how it's supposed to be used.
Moderators aren't your big brother that you call on when someone's got you bested. We're here to 'steer' the environment as facilitators as opposed to being hall monitors and mall security guards.
In fact, here's a perfect opportunity to review "The Rules" listed on the top level menu of the forum. DO IT, I'm not kidding.
If you're posting angry, continually taking swipes at your fellow users or can't seem to form a cogent argument sans expletives or insults when you have a difference of opinion with your fellow webbie, you have no need (and no constitutional right) to be on an internet forum sharing an opinion. |
