You certainly need time in the books and time in the plane flying, especially getting IFR current as many have said. I'd agree, an RJ course won't help you as you are not at the proficiency level your classmates will be at.

I would find a knowledgeable instructor who will work with you on both a modern sim and flying a twin. Once you are current and proficient again, then re-evaluate your options. CFI-ing may be a good route to take, or you may then consider an RJ course.
