I've been told that if you are somewhat near what Delta is looking for, and you have a good connection to a DAL pilot they can get you in to shake hands with a Chief Pilot so that way when your app rolls across his desk he will know who you are and it puts one more check mark in the positive side. I was told by a Delta guy (not somebody on this board) that with out the PIC it doesn't matter anyways so I haven't made any "shopping trips" to ATL yet.
