It's such a great policy. My wife could REALLY get a well paying job in Rochester or West Virginia. Since she's the only one that makes enough money to pay for the necessities of life, I live in Hartford instead of Rochester.
Seriously though, I don't really want to turn this into a bitch fest about our pay. However, the reality is most of us don't make enough to support ourselves let alone a family. The Colgan's acknowledge that we're payed pretty low. With this in mind most of us are probably "kept men/women." So we have to live where our S.O. can get payed the most. Why not institute a commuter policy, beyond the need for reservists it's a pretty easy QOL gimmee they can pass to us?
PS Luckily I'm only a five hour drive from my base. I've had to institute this "commuter clause" a few times now for flight cancellations. (Never when Bareman was flying though
)
