Your car won't be jacked, but I had two windows broken in UND parking lots. They didn't take anything, it seems like the kids around here do it just for s hits and giggles or out of boredom.

You can also expect plenty of door dings. I park in the way back even in bad weather to avoid it but it still happened to me.

In the summer the trees have some pretty nasty stuff they deposit on the car's finish.

It's a pain to clear the ice/snow off in the winter. It also gets so cold that most cars don't really warm up (until halfway to the airport for instance). If you were just going across campus your car would hate you for it. Engine block heaters help but mine always started without one.

Oh another thing, studless snow tires are highly recommended like these on tirerack.com

I finally have a garage at my off campus apartment... highly recommended. I think there's a way to rent garage space in the gallery apartment garages if you live in the dorms. Can anyone confirm/deny this?
