It's usually not a choice of CFI or regional pilot. Even in today's quick-hiring market, you'll need to do some sort of commercial flying to get that regional job...the most common civilian route is instructing in order to do that. While going to Riddle did not give me my regional job in name alone, the knowledge I gained there did help during interview/training, and I see my instructors and buddies from the university at airports all across the country, in all possible sorts of flying jobs. The contacts definitely come in handy. |
