Default Re: The CPC sylabus stinks!

I've worked at two different flight schools, each with a very different corporate culture. (Both schools were CPC's, by the way.) The first one, each student was assigned a primary instructor, and had a secondary instructor for those times when the student wanted to fly and his/her primary wasn't available. Since you knew your students (and knew them well), it wasn't as crucial that everything be so standardized and regimented, though ironically it was this school that had better standardization of procedures.

At my present school, the students can fly with whomever they want, whenever they want, and use the online scheduling system to book their own lessons. So you never know who is going to show up on your schedule and when. Without the sylabus, you'd have a hard time finding out exactly what you're supposed to be working on with the student.

Between the two schools, I felt that the first one had a much better setup. Unfortunately, that school is no longer around, hence my move to the other school.
