Sorry to hear that man. Sad to say this way, but better to see that then the results of a bad accident or something. That would be more traumatic. Be there for the kids and answer any questions they have as honest as you can (for their age).

I can say that it has the possibility of changing their thoughts on death and bring it more to light then what they see on TV/Gaming. You could play up the helpers and coming to the aid of a stranger in need.

Beware of sleepless nights and the notice of other "dead" things (birds, bugs, etc.). Get them help as needed.

I didn't witness a death as a child, but had the unfortant to find a dead body of a high schooler when I was in 4th grade, on school property. Teachers wouldnt even believe me until I found the one that her husband work with my father. Many sleepless nights after that. It is still VERY visable in my mind, and its been MANY years.
