Yo!
How many folks out there are on Linkedin (
www.linkedin.com)? For those that aren't familiar with the website, it's a professional networking site and it seems to be pretty legit. I got an invite from a friend a couple of months and I'll be honest... I was pretty skeptical of joining at first. I thought it was just another one of those so-called 'networking' sites that provides less value than spam. Nevertheless, I joined and have been able to connect with lots of former colleagues (I'm a career changer) and current fellow-pilots and have found it to be pretty valuable.
It seems like there aren't many 'Aviation/Airline' professionals on the site and I was thinking that this might prove to be one of the many valuable networking tools out there that we could use to our advantage... whenever we need it. For example, you can search on 'Acme Airline' and the site will search all the contacts in your network and show you who has an affiliation with that company and how they're part of your network (i.e. your friend, John Doe, knows Jane Smith at 'Acme Airlines').
Anyhow, I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone is already on the site. If people aren't familiar... check it out and see what you think.
