Re: Private Military Contract flying? I was interviewing with a company that flew kingairs and was looking for pilots in "western asia."
Generally a decent amount of flight time in the same or similiar aircraft, some previous military time may be desirable but its not required, some similiar job experience(in my case air medevac and aerial survey) and a gung-ho attitude. Pay was great---17K a month. 90 days on/ 90 days off and I think it would have been a blast to do but ultimatly decided against it for the time being.
The nice thing is that generally your not competing against real high time guys for this job. 2000 - 3000 hours seems par for the course. AirScan wants 1,000 hours piston twin because thats what they operate.
However these are not humanitarian efforts. There are many companies that hire pilots to come to Africa or S. America etc... to fly for a year but I'm not familiar with any directly. Look around and keep searchin youll find it. |
