The DA-20 is not certified for instrument flight...at all. So, it's probably so that students don't get closer to IMC than they belong (of course, we all maintain perfect CFR cloud clearance, right? All together.....RIGHT!).
Personally, I think that if we were going to go to an all-new fleet, it should have been Cessna or Piper....and probably Cessna. But, oh well....I'm not running thew show......yet.....
