1000 hours I fianlly moved into four digits!
I just totaled up my logbook from the past week and I fianlly broke the 1000 hour mark. It took 12 years of flying, a year of part time instruction, and a year of fulltime instruction. Obiously I'm not exactly chaseing the "fast track" program.
When I came home last night, my wife had even baked me a cake.
The really neat thing is that when I added up my time to see which flight I rolled over the zeros. it was my most satisfying flight since I moved to Dallas.
I gave a BFR to a man who has spent the last 10 years trying to get his medical back after battling alchaholisim. He had been on the path to becoming a pilot in the Marine Corps, but his addiction caused him to make some bad choices. After working as a line tech and fueling airplanes for a long time, he finally hit rock bottom and started his recovery. It has taken 10 years to get a special issuance medical, but now that he has one I was able to sign off his BFR and get him back in the air.
