Not to discourage you, but the situation is more complicated then you might believe, administratively that is.

Anyway, I have done it. My wife is EU, we married in Denmark and did all of the filing in Germany, where we lived. We are now both here in the U.S.A.

We have done all of the paperwork, so if you got questions I got answers.
