Re: I just got hosed Call the HR contact and talk to him/her. Don't be negative AT ALL..but tell the person that you would like to better understand the situation and if you did anything wrong. People are people, and *most* people don't like the idea of doing somebody wrong. Not that you were done wrong in this situation.
Just shoot it to the person straight. Ask why they are hurting so bad for pilots, you got shown the door without the chance to prove your value...AND that ASA is the only place you want to work. AND, you would be grateful to that person forever if they would be able to get you an explanation as to why you were excluded. Most of all...you really have to sell it to this person. Don't oversell, because it comes off as fake, and don't act like a child that was picked last for a game of football.
I don't have a clue about interviewing in the aviation business, but I used to hire some very talented technical computer people. If you build a rapport with the HR person, and you get them to "buy-in" to helping your cause, you never know what can happen. Maybe there is a good reason. Maybe they only had a quota for 20 people for the month, and you were number 21. Who knows. But, I am sure that if you work the situation right, you will be able to find out what it takes to get back into that interview room.
Hope this helps.
