OK...
So... I get to my hotel for my JAX overnight fairly early last week. What's the first thing I do? That's right! I pull out the ol' laptop and hit up the JC.com "New Posts" link to get my daily dose...
One of the newest posts at the top of the page was 777Forever's post about his "Rich Ride" being scheduled that morning in Jacksonville at CRG. So... what do I do?? I call the old office at CRG and see if he's there... The infamous Rich actually answers the phone and says that Marcus is out pre-flighting the plane... so I leave a message for him to call me when he's done.
He calls me later that afternoon and I tell him I'm in town... and in exhange for him him coming downtown to pick me up... I'd take him out to dinner to congratulate him on getting the heck out of JAX!
CFI's can hardly ever turn down free food!
So... he picks me up and we start driving (getting lost) downtown... in the meantime..
meyers9163 calls 777 on his cell phone... 777 says "You'd never guess who's in the car with me now..." and promptly hands the phone to me. I get the opportunity to speak with meyers for about 10 minutes all the while 777 is making several u-turns and turnarounds in parking lots driving to who knows where... so I feel like I really need to say goodbye to meyers and help 777 find his way around... even though I don't have a clue myself.
Anyway... we make it to "The Landing" across the river and we start walking from the parking lot when 777 says that he called
Stone Cold already to see if he wants to come down. I promptly say... "Crap! I forgot that Joe lived here!", while promptly dialing him up and giving him the message to get the heck down to The Landing so I can buy him a beer.
Joe shows up about 45 minutes later...
Fun was had by all... and the most important thing is that Stone Cold and 777 were in the same room together without Stone going all "Stone Cold" on 777 for some of his wacky posts on JC!
Seriously... thanks for making my overnight even better guys!
Joe, enjoy your great schedule this month...
Marcus, enjoy the long friggin' drive to Houston...
