Wow... I have a similar story. I was dating a guy and his ex-wife who was a total LOSER came back in the picture and he pursued her. Like he hadn't already been burnt once by her. Oh well... thankfully I wasn't "in love" with him or anything. We were just casually dating. Once upon a time I was a total romantic and fell very easily, now I date for fun. I've gone out with 4 new guys in the past 4 weeks. I've even gone out with a couple of them more than once. I'm not completely jaded (yet), I still think I'll find someone really special one day but for now, I just keep in mind that there's always another!
