I agree a controller shouldn't critique or be a critic BUT that wasn't the case here. A controller was on her toes, noticed an airplane close to landing without the gear down. Granted what she did wasn't the "by the book way" but if Lloyd was as close to the ground and runway as he makes it seem, I think the cancelled landing clearance was the better option than "check gear down".
