I sat in on a meeting with him when he was running ATO. Showed up late, spent most of the time on his Blackberry, left early (OK, it wasn't that important). I don't think his performance (or, lack therof) can really be an indicator of anything. So far, nobody's been able to effect large-scale upgrades to the air traffic system. I think he bailed when he realized he'd be at a focus point of the User Fees debate.
Will he be good for JetBlue? Only if he can convince Davis Neeleman to stop trying to reduce the number of employees per plane. Judging from his ATC staffing initiatives, I don't think that will happen.
