All the karting places in CA seem to be doing well. They've been open for quite a few years. They're always busy at any time of the day. It could be a fad though - who knows.
I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to go karting - if more people went, they'd be able to lower the price a bit to make it more affordable for everyone. It's expensive as it is. Believe it or not, renting a Cessna 172 is about the same cost and provides about the same thrill. |
The places with descent karts need sponsers to keep the price down. I think you'd find that it's actually more expensive to run a go-kart than rent a plane. The REAL ones at least. That's where most fall short and then if insurance costs sky rocket, as was the case with the one in my home town, the price must go up to cover it and no one wants to go anymore. Then it shuts down.
