On the frequency box sometimes there is a "G" after the frequency.

For example it'd say "2.2G". I, along with others, think it means that frequency is guarded - a listen only frequency whereas you'd receive over the navaid. But, if thats the case why is there some that say "2.2R". I was under the impression that the R mean "receive" and you'd listen over the navaid.

Thoughts?
