Haha, it was 8 in the morning and I was pissed that I couldn't get my car started. My mind was working pretty slow.
I've found another thing that works really well is keep the accelerator floored and brake against the engine when needed. This keeps the engine spooled up against the centrifical clutch. You have to crafty about how you do this though, the owners don't usually like when you do this.
In reality you only save about 2-3 seconds on your lap time though.
