I'm not saying it should ride like it has no suspension at all, but it sure as hell should be stiff enough to be able to go off road(not soft roading), have descent payload, and towing capacity.
I think the only decent off-roading SUVs/4x4's available brand new now are the Land Rover Discovery, Mercedes G-Wagen, Mercedes Unimog, and of course the Jeep Wrangler. All of the above have locking diff's and rigid axles... even the Toyota Landcruiser is a decent off-roading vehicle other than it's front independent suspension disadvantage (for off-roading obviously)...but at least the Landcruiser has a locking center diff.

...even my parent's 4-wheel independent suspension M-Classes are good vehicles for the light off-roading we do like this seen here and here and here. At least they have low-range and an active locking differential...but still ain't no rockcrawler. I wish I had some better pictures of some crazy stuff my dad does in his...like one wheel way up in the air with the other side inches from a boulder... I have a video somewhere of that. Obviously you won't be using it on the Rubicon, but my dad's friend has taken his ML320 on some portions of the Rubicon and removed the front and rear bumpers ...along with lots of body damage
