Re: Tour of the facilities
As far as the CFII / MEI ratings. . . as I understand it. . . it depends on attrition. The more people that leave, MEI types, a CFII instructor gets slotted for the MEI training, and then a CFI gets trained to cover the old CFII's training. I'll say it appears to be a non-issue presently.
That is how I understand it, it may be correct . . . or wrong. Perhaps Spencer or one of the past students turned instructors turned regional flyer can comment.
The program appears to be more self-study. I plan on having the FOI, Instrument, CFI-Instrument, and Commercial writtens knocked out before I arrive on the complex.
Considering the instructor attrition, I would easily say it is possible to get enough multi time to move on, I won't even venture a guess at how much though.
I toured on a Saturday afternoon, had a couple primary students walking around, getting clipboards, and then jumping off into their planes. The weather was great, and I saw a couple getting ready for their solo cross country work. The atmosphere appears to be very relaxed, not so much up in your face, but it is very customer driven. . . you set the rules. You want to train from 8 to 5? For 6 days a week? Okay. . . we will find an instructor who also wants that type of schedule, etc etc.
