Default Re: Physical Condition for Military

I cant totally help you out but I can provide insite.

My brother in law flys the Dauphin in the Coast Guard as a Lieutenant Commander and he is and always has been "husky" with the exception of their sparse fitness test he has not done any PT in the last three years. He says absolutely anyone can handle it

My good friend is enlisted in the Coast Guard and he got out of bootcamp last January. He was a pretty big kid and said that bootcamp was pretty tough physically because he was so out of shape but he compared it to nothing more than taking the season off and getting back into sports (baseball season, football, track etc) you get the idea. I dont know if you have ever played sports but you know how the first few practices get you winded.. He says it is nothing more than that and since hitting the "fleet" he has not PT'd since.
