Default Re: Ram Air Here I Come!

Yes I definitely need the multi time, and that is one of the reasons that I wanted to work here. It seems like everyone that I have spoken to there is very professional but also laid back. New hires always start out in the Piper Lance, but the average time to upgrade into one of the twins is about two months. That is what they told me during the interview. The pay varies depending on the run that you are doing. $24,000 to $30,000 for the first year is the average. That will be more than I ever made as a flight instructor.

I held two flight instructing jobs before this. One was at an FBO in Glendale, AZ (KGEU). Glendale Aviation is the name of the FBO. I was there for two and a half years. I gained a ton of good experience there. The pay was low, but the people there were very friendly and made me feel appreciated.

After that I took another flight instructing job with Western Michigan University. They promised me a quick upgrade to the multi, and better pay. They didn't deliver on either one of those things. I still got some good experience with winter flying, and flying the Cirrus was awesome!

I am looking forward to working for Ram Air. I will be able to finally add to my 11 hours of multi time, but also get some really good experience flying in all kinds of weather and in different types of planes.

I really enjoyed flight instructing, but it will be nice to fly with MY hands on the controls for a change. I will keep everyone posted on how things go during the training.
