They just blend together. You don't even know when you drive from one to the next.
The area south of the 101 is Peoria toward the west, then Glendale closer to the I-17, then Phoenix east of the I-17. Pretty general but the city limits tend to wander a bit.
School districts are worse yet, I live in Phoenix but am in the Glendale school district.
