Just remember, things come at your 20 knots faster. I'm not saying its a big difference or that you couldn't handle it, but make it as easy for yourself as possible. Although you think you're prepped to the max for the ride, its a checkride and you WILL get sweaty palms and increased heart rate. If the 182 with the HSI is valuable enough to you, use it. Just make sure you know the details of how the HSI works (flux valve, no magnetic screwdrivers, etc, etc)

Thanks, I do need to study the HSI if I use the 182 forgot about that but thanks for reminding me. I'll use my last couple hours of training before the checkride in the 182 to get fully used to it then hopefully all goes well
