Default Another Cirrus Plane Crash-Vegas-3 fatalities

Another Cirrus plane crash. This one occurred near Vegas yesterday afternoon. According to the news report, the parachute failed to deploy. I've heard that the Cirrus' have to have the chutes because spin recovery is difficult. Any thoughts from people who have flown them?

Three people are presumed dead in a plane crash in Mohave County, Arizona.
The single engine plane went down Wednesday afternoon about 80 miles east of Las Vegas.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says the four-seat, single-engine plane crashed at about 12:11 p.m. After the pilot reported icing on its wings at an altitude of 13,000 feet.
Searchers in a helicopter from the Mohave County sheriff's department reported finding the wreckage and seeing three bodies, the FAA spokesman said.
The aircraft is designed to deploy a parachute in an emergency, but at this point its unclear if it did deploy.
The plane is registered to a New Orleans company and was reportedly on its way from the San Francisco to Phoenix.
