The JAA (if you are looking to convert a FAA license to a JAA license) will automatically deduct 25% of your time from your log book because they only count the time from rotation to landing. I guess somewhere someone calculated that we spend 25% of our logged time taxing around the airfield.

I've rented planes here in Germany and the Hobbs is hooked up to RAM air and does not start counting until you exceed 30 kts. Makes it easier to log time under the JAA rules and saves you money because you don't have to pay until you are practically airborne.
