Default Re: Logbook remarks

I had a convo with my DE for my private and he told me about a CFI friend of his who had written "Touch and goes" in the remarks section of one of his students logbooks.

There was an unfortunate accident with that student later where he was killed, while in the traffic pattern. The family sued and their lawyer used the fact that there is no mention of "touch and goes" in the PTS that he was not trained properly by the CFI for takeoffs and landings.

They actually won that case.

I can't give real specifics, I just heard this second hand, but It's sure scary to think of that being true. I just keep mine to the bare minimum of info.
