Default Re: Another Pilot Hangs Up His Wings....

Chris here is one of those "the more you know" post.

Straight from the big mans mouth himself at the last Phoenix "meet & greet."

"Max you changed the game on the website when you registered, but you also became somewhat of a character and less of a real person in the sight of many."

What did he mean by that. Well I enjoy humor and I enjoy not being serious all the time and I enjoy having a good time. Both myself and my ex at the time were the first openly gay people on the site. More so him then I. He let EVERYONE know he was gay and proud. At that time everything that we said had a gay tie in or gag joke to it. It was funny to most offense to others. Everett loved attention and shined in the spotlight. But probably in hindsight it hurt his character reputation with some.

After he left I kinda took over his spot but at an albeit lesser level. Everyone expected a witty gay joke or gay theme post and I didn't always disapoint. Then came the time where I didn't want to be only known as "that gay guy from Jetcareers" and wanted to have what I said on here be taken seriously. Well it wasn't and I was still the posterboy for gay avaition on the site. No one cared that I read alot and could tell them backwards and forwards the electrical system on a 727. Or explain in detail what a triple slotted fowler or kreuger flap was the because I was typecast as more of a gay "character", then a real aviation buff who only happened to be gay.

The same can be said for you. Since you registered your name has been synomous with asinine post with little or no meaning and horrible grammar or the total lack there of,cursing and illogical rambings. Your exploits in Jetcareers AIM chat are known second to none. So when people think about you their first thoughts are to judge you by your past here on the site. It's wrong because there are so many more facets to a person then what little we show on this site but in our case one might say we did it to ourselves.

If you remember your "6 inch" comments in AIM that warranted me picking up the phone and getting into your #### and telling you to grow the #### up and stop that ####. I told you that if you wanted to be respected by your peers more on the site called out less and taken more seriously you should lead by example. Learn to ignore the haters who egg you on and laugh at you when you explode in dramatic fashion. I have seen a dramatic change in you post UND and it is for the better I would think but understand that many still have the prior impression of you in the back of their mind.

Prove them wrong by being yourself and not the JC class clown or village idiot that many think you are. Proof read your post, use correct grammar, sentence structure, post in the right forums and continue to add to the site content and both your reputation level and peoples opinions of you will change.

One can't be an ass then demand respect they must earn it.
