Re: Subsidies Keep Airlines Flying to Small Towns
EAS is just a way of life where I am from. I actually used to work for a company that had the contracts for most of the state of Wyoming and Nebraska before I left for flight school. It may sound like a waste but I think those figures are a little skewed from the norm. Our load factors were pretty high all of the time and there were days when overbooking really screwed us because everybody actually showed up....added to the fact that the mighty 1900 can be weight restricted, we had some problems occasionally. I don't think 9 pax aircraft could do anything to help out most of the stations but PUB was always sort of a sore issue with us because it went back and forth between us and Midwest Express for a while and it got really confusing about who was actually operating the flight. Who really wants to go to Pueblo anyway?
