possibly long upgrade times. Is this the case, or does anyone know how the scene is looking at the company? Anyone here know any current news about them or perhaps know someone that works at the company?
We had a guy who is upgrading right now come into class to say hi. He's been with the company 7 years. There are a lot of retirements coming up, so that number may get smaller, but not by much. Alaska never grows real fast, so there won't be much movement. There are new 737-800s on order, but those are to replace the MD-80s.

From what I've seen, the pilots that Alaska is hiring have several years Pt. 121 PIC or extensive military backgrounds.
