Re: Hardest Rating/License I guess I must've got lucky because I found the initial CFI to be the 2nd easiest, after the Private.
It was definately the hardest to prepare for, but the actual test wasn't too bad. I didn't have to fly that much - the examiner did most of that while I was teaching/critiquing.
In order of difficulty, starting from the easiest, I would say for me it was:
Private, CFI, Commercial, Instrument
Bottom line: It all depends on the day, and who your examiner is.
