Re: anyone under 21 sending resumes to regionals? Im 20 I have my AS degree right now and plan on starting the UVSC online stuff in a few weeks. I have an interview with Express Jet and one at Colgan. XJ was a walk in Colgan was on my own but i did work for them as a ramp agent at ACT while i was in school so maybe you could consider it "walked in" My plan is to just get comfy in the right seat and finish my bachelors online slowly i cant see my self at a major any sooner than 6 years minimum so i feel like i have that much time to get it done. As far as the whole young pilot stuff it sucks, ive lost a handfull of fun flights in peoples Bonanzas and Barrons because of my age. Its ok though one guy who was 59 grabbed one of those slots flying a barron the had like 900/60 to my 800/170 and got a violaton for some reason or another because he said he couldnt keep up with the airplane. No offense at all to Older pilots the best pilots i have ever flown with were older gentleman, but it sucks when most people wont even give us younger guys a chance even though we may be more qualified. I dont understand all my students that are under 30 seem to learn to fly twice as quickly as guys over 30, for the most part. Its always going to be an ongoing battle though the young quick sharp pilots vs the older supposedly more expierienced just because he/she is older pilot. |
