Eventhough one may time out the airline may still use them past those times for 91 repositioning, test, and ferry flights. Just not for revenue flights once the time limits have been exceeded. There are other limitations under this section for various crew compositions.

135 Charters Unscheduled 1 or 2 Crewmember Aircraft (135.267)- 8 hours in a 24 period 1 crewmember aircraft
- 10 hours in a 24 period 2 crewmember aircraft
- 500 in a calendar quarter
- 800 in two consecutive quaters
- 1400 in a year
