Re: Family history of aviation My grandfather was fascinated by the fighters he saw flying overhead in WWII (he's english) and learned to fly when he was old enough. He went on to set a few records. Nothing that would make him famous, he was the first person to fly solo over the north pole in a single and set a couple endurance records. He sparked my mom's interest. She got hired by a regional in England at 18, then got hired by Pan Am and moved to America. Since the fall of Pan Am she has been flying corporate.
My dad got his PPL while he was a Baltimore City cop. When he moved to Delaware and became a cop they transfered him to the aviaiton section and gave him all his ratings. My mom was dad's multi instructor, they ended up getting married and had me and two other kids. I'm the only one that took up flying.
If you look outside of my close family there seems to be a lot of pilots. But I'd imagine if you look hard enough any family is that way.
