I'd say that 90% of that article is BS and written by somebody that didn't have a clue about what they were talking about.
As an example, I'd say 99% of aircraft in this country are 'legally' unairworthy. All it takes is one typo in a MX log or one static wick missing to make an aircraft unairworthy (according to the Fort Worth FSDO).
