Tuition assistance will cover the cost of your schooling up to a certain amount per quarter. If you go over that amount you can use your GI bill "top up" which will take the amount you are short and supplement that with your GI Bill.
In my experience, i usually take 3 classes per semester, i am not too overloaded and my tuition assistance has covered every dollar at a cheap local college.
Go with a nice innexpensive local college and then if you want you can transfer your credits to a more well known university and finish your degree with them. This does not really matter though because as long as the college is accredited it doesnt really matter where you got it from, a degree is degree no matter where it is from or what it is in.
Just because you have a BS in underwater basket weaving at Santa Cruz Community College does not make you any less qualified than someone who is applying for the same aviation job that has a degree in Aeronautical Sciences at Harvard. Impressive, yes. Required, no. It is a check in the box and your flying qualifications and more importantly who you know will get you the job.
