Thats pretty big of you Dugie. That shows a lot of restraint. I have a friend at TSA and it really pisses me off that Go-jets are around. My friend is getting screwed and is leaving TSA partly because of it. Leaving an airline is one of the hardest things to do in this industry, basically your taking a step back and starting all over.
GJ pilots at STL, get blocked, get starred down in their terminals, and from what I understand, when GJ pilots have to sit in the terminal, they hide their badge and sit in a corner. hoping no one will notice them. My friend sat at ORD for 5 hours to DH back to STL. He could have taken an earlier flight on GJ, but refused.
MLM, i would share what u have learned here toyour CFI friends. they might, hopefully, appreciate it and change their decision to fly ther. There are plenty of other airlines hiring.
MESA.....
Also someone mentioned Mesa catching crap. From my understanding, some of it has to do with Freedom Airlines, a Mesa alter ego carrier, back in tha day. They are partially the reason why Mesa pilots had to sign such a crappy contract. BOG, would know better, feel free to correct me if i am wrong.
Mesa catches crap because they have the worst contract, so other airline pilots think they are stealing their jobs. For example, an ACA/Indy guy might hate mesa because they picked up some United flying, thinking its because mesa underbid them. I am not saying its right or wrong, thats just the reasoning behind it.
