We're not more popular than all the others...it just depends on what you're looking for. If you just want to get your foot in the door of a 135 operator and don't care if it starts in a C-210 with an eventual upgrade to the BE-58, then Flight Express (FXE) is a perfect fit. If you want West Coast operations and quicker upgrade to twin turbine PIC, Ameriflight (AMF) is the place. If you want an almost guaranteed (we do have C-208's, so it's not totally guaranteed) start in 135 in twins, then Airnet is the place on the East Coast and some Midwest locations.
There are others out there, and most have good MX. I will say I have never had a problem with MX here at Airnet, and I have heard FXE has good maintenance. See the thread Airnet Avionics, or something like that, to see what kind of equipment we have. There are some shady operators, but there are also good reputable companies out there. I wish there were more operators on this board so we could get more info out there on the good and bad of the night cargo ops at different companies. I know we have a few Ameriflight people here and one prior FXE person, not sure who else, though.
It all depends on what you want...
