I rode on a CRJ-700 as a passenger the other day and I was impressed at how quiet it was, and it seemed pretty roomy especially compared to the ERJ. The ERJ I flew on was so loud from wind noise, and I was crammed in on the left side where the single seat is. Sitting in the ERJ was so cramped I felt like I was getting an MRI.
As far as Piedmont goes... They had a chance to get jets a while back but PSA under bid them. The Q-400's are still rumored to be on the way. More rumors are that Piedmont and PSA may merge. Another rumor is that Piedmont will be hiring 20 pilots a month for the next year.
Who cares about jets...big fat deal. The PSA guys walk around like their s**t dont stink because they fly jets. Were both owned by the same company. The Dash is the Caddilac of turboprops and handles like a kitten. Now all those 50 seat RJ's are losing money, but the Dash makes money half full.
But I am biased because I fly the Dash-8.
