The interview itself is very relaxed and Sheila and John go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and calm. Your interview time is at 9 a.m. and you should show up no later than 8:45, so you need to fly in the day before unless you live close to salisbury, MD. You are given a space-A ticket along w/your application about a week before your interview date. All of us stayed at the Microtel about 5-10 minutes from the airport, the Microtel has a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport and drop you off at Piedmont HQ the next morning for free.

The day of the interview you show up with everyone in the class and you turn in your paperwork(app. and any copies they want you to bring). After that you sit in a conf. room and wait for Sheila to come in and admin. the written exam. The written is 50 Q's most from the ATP book and some w/app. plates, you are given 45 minutes to complete it and most of us were done in 20 min. Just study the gouge on willflyforfood and you will pass.

After that you wait for your exam to be graded and if you don't make an 80 or better you are sent home at that time. For everyone who does pass you are then given a company overview(about 20 minutes long) by Sheila and then you sit and wait to be called out for the 2:1 interview.

The 2:1 is very laid back just like the rest of the process. You interview with Sheila and John Buchannon(chief pilot) in a small room down the hall. Mr. Buchannon asked me most of the questions, but there were no tech. questions at all!! He asked me things like, are you mult. current? Where do you work? What do you do there? How many hours do you fly a month? Anything on driving record? Any DUI/DWI? Any FAA violations? Anything you want to tell us about yourself? That was about it, the interview lasted maybe 10 minutes. After you are done they let you go over to the airport and try to get on the next flight out.

Overall the process was nice and relaxed from the moment we walked in and we were all done with everything by noon. Seems like a great place to work and with good aircraft and good people. The times in my interview class ranged from 600-1400, some were CFI's others were 135 or freight guys. They tell you that it will take 10 days to let you know either way, but I got a letter in the mail after 4 days saying that they were putting me into the hiring pool. Good luck to anyone who interviews there I hope to be flying for them soon.
